Making money online as an affiliate is a great way to make cash without having to create and market your own profit.

There are thousands of products with affiliate programs to promote online, the secret is choosing the right ones to promote.

Most people go for the same popular Clickbank products and struggle to make sales due to the competition.  To make sales with most of the clickbank products you need to dominate the search engines for very competitive “buyer” keywords, which is not easy to do.  You can pull in niche traffic easy enough, but if the traffic is not looking to spend money, you won't make many sales from it!

One of the best ways to boost your clickbank conversions is to concentrate on building a list and then trying to sell the affiliate product via a series of autoresponder messages. Another good tip is to stay away from the Internet Marketing and Weight loss niches and look for more targeted products and niches.

In the less glamorous niches, you’ll find sites are less well optimised and therefore its easier to rank for buying words, for example take a look at this site of mine promoting hip hop software, its a very targeted niche product and as a result converts well.

Another way to make affiliate sales is to build review sites and review non Clickbank products.  Products and services in the gambling niche convert well for example, because the person finding your site is looking for gambling sites to play on, so they will want to look at your top rated sites.  Here is another of my sites as an example, Free Cash Bingo.

One final example of one of my sites, is a non clickbank affiliate site in a very targeted but unfashionable niche, Compost Tumblers, again it converts well because the visitor finds reviews of exactly what they are looking to spend money on.
