Want To Know How To Increase Your Search Engine Rankings?
|
Search engine optimization techniques used to increase your website rankings are sometimes overlooked by webmasters, as it can seem too complex. Today I’m going show you that search engine optimization is not scary, and with that being said, it’s time to face that fear. A high search engine ranking for your website is so essential that if you have the slightest desire to actually succeed in your business, there is no way you can continue to avoid this issue.
At least 85% of people looking for goods and services on the Internet find websites through search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Search engine optimization is based around the principle that you should have your website ranked well for the search engines to attract targeted customers to your website, who are then more likely to make a purchase. If your website is ranked higher in the search engine results, as a result, you will receive more traffic and more customers. Search engine optimization is based upon this desire. You can immerse yourself in all the technical information available online to figure out how to optimize your web pages to achieve higher rankings. Or, you can make a few simple on page adjustments to your website, which can help to improve your search engine rankings. One of the first things you should look at is the title of your web page at the top of your online browser.
The title bar is featured at the top left hand corner of your internet browser. Look at what is says when you are on your website home page. To increase search engine rankings, you should include your main keyword phrases in the title bar of your web browser.
You should then click on all your internal website links and see what the title bar says for these as well. For every page, the title bar must contain all the important keywords and phrases that each different web page is about. Avoid having lots of different keywords in the title bar, keeping it to six words or less. Make sure that the same or repeated words are not next to each other, or just avoid repeating words more than once.
Search engines generally list sites that contain quality content rather than scintillating graphics. The text on your pages must contain the most important keywords, and the words that potential customers will be typing into search engines to find your site. If you want more on this, be sure to take a look at Commission Blueprint at my blog.
Aim to have around 250 words on each page, but if this is not desirable due to your design, aim for at least 100 carefully chosen words. Having relevant text within the body of your website is crucial to achieving good search engine rankings. The text, and not the graphics, of your website must be in HTML format, so the search engines can read it and give you good rankings.
To find out if your text is in HTML format, take your cursor and try to highlight a word or two. If you are able to do this, the text is HTML. If the text will not become highlighted, it is more than likely in graphic form. If so, ask your webmaster to change the text to HTML format in order to achieve better search engine rankings.
After this, you should take a look at your websites meta tags. In reality, meta tags don’t play a bog part in your search engine rankings. But, it is still worth adding them just in case the search engines take this into consideration.
To find out if your page is set up with meta tags, you must access the code, and to do this, click the “view” button on the browser menu bar, and select “source.” You will see a new window. If there are meta tags, they usually appear near the top of the window. You should see meta name=”keywords” content=, if you have meta tags. Have your webmaster put this code into your website if you do not have it.
The last thing is link popularity. The most important factor. Link popularity is based on the quality of the sites that have linked to you. This increases search engine rankings, and helps to drive quality traffic to your website.
All businesses should include a search engine optimization campaign in their marketing strategy. You will make more money in your business with higher search engine rankings.
